Prairie Point Stocking

Regular price $10.00

This was the pattern that started all of my patterns. I live 3 miles from a quaint quilting shop, which has since closed, called The Quilt Block. In 1999 we had moved into our new home and I decided to make us all new Christmas Stockings. I wanted something large enough to hold all the gifts and treats my family has come to enjoy over the years, yet did not want it to be too complex. I wanted it lined and maybe some embellishments on the outside. After much experimentation the Prairie Point Stocking was born. It is SIMPLE! Only 9 pieces per side! It is lined. It has 4 dimensional prairie points per side that have jingle bells dangling from each point. This stocking can be put together in an afternoon. When I went to The Quilt Block to get fabric the owner asked if I wanted to teach a class on making my stockings. I thought that would be fun. I went home, made paper patterns and wrote directions and taught my first quilt class. Then I made extra patterns to hang in the shop. Once these sold I decided to pattern some of my baby quilts and they sold as well. Zebra Patterns was born. This stocking finishes at 12" x 22" - It is a hefty stocky!
