Billie Jean King was born in Long Beach, California. In 1961, she and her partner became the youngest pair to win the Wimbledon women’s doubles title. Billie was ranked #1 in the world in women’s tennis in 1966. She was an advocate for equal prize money in men’s and women’s games. Billie has been a pioneer for equality and social justice. King was elected to the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1987.
