Ellen Lee DeGeneres born in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1958, is a comedian, actress, TV host, writer, producer and LGBTQ rights activist. Most notably Ellen came out as a lesbian on the fourth season of her sitcom on national TV. DeGeneres has hosted the Academy Awards, as well as the Grammy and Emmy Awards. She has her own production and record company. She has won 30 Emmy’s, 20 People’s Choice Awards and received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2016.
