Queen Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor was born in London in 1926. When her father King George VI died in 1952, Elizabeth became Queen over the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan, and Ceylon. She married Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and has four children: Charles, Prince of Wales; Anne, Princess Royal; Prince Andrew, Duke of York; and Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex. Queen Elizabeth is extremely popular and is the longest-reigning female monarch in the world.
