Annelies Marie “Anne” Frank, a Jewish German-Dutch diarist was born in Frankfort Germany in 1929. Anne kept a diary during the Holocaust, while being hidden with her family in Amsterdam. Anne and her sister have been recorded to have died in a concentration camp of disease in 1945. “The Diary of a Young Girl”, was published in English in 1952 and has been translated into over seventy languages. The book documents her life in hiding from 1942-1944 during WWII.
