Toni Morrison

Chloe Anthony Wofford Morrison (Toni) was born in Lorain, Ohio. She was an American novelist who wrote plays, children’s books, and novels. Her first novel was published in 1970. Toni was the first African American woman to win the Nobel Prize in literature. She earned many awards including the Pulitzer Prize and the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Barack Obama.
